The Digital Exchange Project was established in 2016 as a form of collaboration between two departments from two art universities: SVA in New York (3D Technology Department) and FaVU in Brno (Sculpture Studio).
In a creative dialogue, students and teachers work in annual cycles on digital sculptures. Together, they explore the possibilities of digital art and how modern technologies can be used to bridge distances and discover new forms. The main aspect of this collaboration is the creative contact, which is by no means always easy and often pushes the creators out of their comfort zones.
The assignments are framed both formally and thematically by 3D printing technology, allowing to simultaneously create and exhibit works on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
